National-level rifle shooter Damayanti Sen goes missing in Howrah
A 15-year-old national-level rifle shooter, Damayanti Sen, has gone missing from her home in Central Howrah. A resident of Umacharan Bhattacharya Lane, she left her house early Thursday morning to buy milk and failed to return. Her family searched local areas before filing a missing person's diary at the Howrah police station. To aid in the search, family members have also shared her details across various social media platforms, appealing to the public for any information regarding her whereabouts.
During the initial investigation, police scanned local surveillance feeds and spotted the teenager at Howrah Railway Station. CCTV footage showed her walking alone on platforms four and five on Thursday morning before she disappeared from the camera's view. Law enforcement officials are actively trying to trace her movements and determine which train or direction she took after leaving the platform area. No further trace of her was found by Thursday night.
According to her family, Damayanti had recently qualified for the national team tryouts and was regular with her early morning practice sessions. She had gone to sleep early on Wednesday night, keeping her mobile phone with her, and there were no reported arguments or domestic issues at home.
